Those of you reading this, this is a really random blog. Yes, I know (it's weird). What in the world made me think of this question, I really don't know. I remember asking it when I went on a cruise in spring. No one was talking. It was one of those awkward silences; no one really understands why it happens, but it does. Since no one was talking, I started to daydream about the ocean. It makes sense; we were on a cruise. The ocean reminded me of a shark and the crocodile just scares me even though there was no way I could run into a crock during the cruise. Without even realizing, I blurted out, " What would you guys rather be eaten by: a shark or a crocodile?" At the time I was with my sister and her friends from her dental college. They just looked at me and started laughing, but they did start debating on which one is worse and it lasted a while.
So, which is worse a crock or a shark? One of the girls said she would rather be eaten by a shark because it seems less painful then being eaten by a crocodile. Her reasoning was made by jugging the shark and crocodile's teeth. It's funny; of course she would think about teeth she wants to be a dentist. My sister said she would also pick a shark because a crocodile can not only attack you on land, but also in water since it is both a land and water animal. It's logical; at least with a shark you can try to swim away and try to reach land. I even asked my other sister this question, even though she wasn't on the cruise. She is really strange because the only reason she picked a crocodile was because she'd like to see one and it's so common to be eaten by a shark. I guess i see her point, being eaten by a crocodile is rare, which makes it more interesting.
Personally, I also think I'd rather be eaten by a shark, than a crocodile. There are several reasons why. For example, looking at teeth was a good idea. Sharks have not only one set of teeth, but multiple sets. If i was going to die I would want to get it over with as soon as possible. These sharp teeth would shred me up in just seconds. Verses, a crocodile who would probably torture me because he can't chew as fast and it would be a slow painful death. Second, bloody cuts and wounds would hurt really bad in salt water if a shark was actually going to bite me. BUT, a crocodile does this really weird death roll and would snap my bones. I definitely don't want to be rolled on; it looks like it hurts since that thing is so huge, rough, and spiky.
Lastly, crocodiles, or even alligators (because I always confuse the two), seem much more aggressive than sharks. Sharks don't growl or make noises. My sister is right when she made the point about the crocodile being a land animal. Crocodiles won't give it up as easily as a shark. when dealing with a shark you are less likely to be eaten, only bitten. Think about it; people swim with sharks, but no one messes with a crock. Except for the crocodile hunter. If I was in the ocean with the shark there is a chance I would survive. I've heard of people getting shark bites and they are still alive to tell their story. Unlike the shark, the crocodile is mean and green! I feel like it would chase me out of the water and onto land. It probably won't leave me alone because it has an advantage over me. I am very clumsy when I run, I get tired, and the crocodile's strong grip would make it difficult for me to escape. It's bad enough that my flesh would be caught in it's mouth, so I wouldn't appreciate the crocodile's additional death roll. The crocodile would start growling happily, gnawing on my bones, while the shark would hopefully just swallow me. If not swallow then at least it's an easy death. I just don't like the crocodile's image. It's a grossly green, vicious, dirty, monster!
